The Menlo-Atherton Class of 1966 High School Reunion took place this past week-end. Not surprisingly, the post-game chatter was mostly NOT about who was richest (10 Year Reunion theme) or most interesting (20 Year Reunion theme) but who looked the BEST and WORST!!! Not a very high-minded activity, but cringe-worthy, jaw dropping and funny at times...

Pete, the husband of a classmate, described one of the "girls" as "unrecognizable...I thought Ted Kennedy was walking in --" of another classmates wife, who towered over her husband at a height of over 6'2", Pete said "I didn't know whether to hug her or shoot her!" Still giggling...

The clothes were critiqued, hairstyles analyzed, spouses sized up and yet we survived. There were some who looked absolutely great after 40 plus years, Cynthia Lovewell comes to mind here, but mostly the years are showing on all of us. Certainly, sales of Spanx were brisk in the days leading up to the event. Some of the women said they walked in and thought they had the wrong venue, as the room was filled with old men!

I'm hoping that wisdom will set in and by the next time we will all go back to valuing the fantastic accomplishments and fascinating lives of our classmates!After all, we have a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee -- Stevie Nicks, as well as many Doctors, Lawyers, Executives, Entrepreneurs, Divas, Adventurers, Patriots, Pilots, Collectors, Experts and Poet Laureates.

Between us we have some of the most incredible kids on the planet to boot.
